Could Karma be applied to technology? Do one's actions with respect to software creation count towards your Karma? For example, if you wrote a badly-tested-crappy-app that made users miserable, would that create a Karmic debt?
Before I joined ThoughtWorks I worked on a lot of different projects and wrote a lot of code. Some of this code was really good but some of it was really, really bad. I always tried to improve the code, the practices and so on but I am certain that there are crappy software systems out there, that I have contributed to. I know that these systems must be driving their user’s crazy.
So, as I stare at my frozen "groupware" client, waiting for the current batch of gremlins to be exorcised, I wonder “Have I brought this upon myself?”.
